What's Next?

—Great news! Voices UnCaged has been awarded a Special Arts Services Grant through the New York State Council on the Arts!  Although our programming will have to be altered this summer, I’m excited about how we can expand our programming!

Also, last week would have been our first week of rehearsals for COMPLETE WORKS . . . ABRIDGED at Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre where I was directing.  Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, my directing projects at AST and Shake on the Lake are both on hold.

—As a director, teacher, and organizer, I believe it is important to fully and forcefully declare my support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. I know that I have a responsibility to listen, amplify, and act to fully support all of our BIPOC brothers and sisters. My full statement is found on the Voices UnCaged facebook page here.

DECEMBER/JANUARY

—Just in time for the Holiday Season, thrilled to be back in New York for A Christmas Carol.

—Enjoyed the premiere of THE YANKEE by James Basham at the Ron Robinson Theatre.  It was a great, and early, morning of shooting and it looks fantastic.  Click here for a trailer to see me playing an otherworldly bartender.

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER

—Jumping into a new project, LEAR’S NIGHTMARE, with Shake on the Lake.

An immersive piece crafted to bring the kingdom of King Lear onto a farm in western New York. Information here.

—I’ll once again be with Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre this fall bringing our tour ROMEO AND JULIET to San Antonio as part of the Magik Theatre’s Shakespeare on the River.  More information here!  Read reviews from previous productions I’ve directed for Shakespeare on the River HERE.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER

—Thrilled to announce I have been accepted into the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Observership Class for 2019-2020 in New York.  I’m honored and excited for what’s next!

—Couldn’t be happier to collaborate with friends and colleagues at Bradley University for a second time as a Guest Artist and Director.  Directing PETER AND THE STARCATCHER with long time friend and Bradley faculty member, Dan Matisa, as Black Stache.

JULY/AUGUST

—Rejoing the family at Shake on the Lake Shakespeare!  Directing AS YOU LIKE IT, our furthest reaching tour to date!  Also leading our 4th summer residency at Groveland Prison with our program Voices UnCaged.

May/JUNE

—Proud that Voices UnCaged has recieved a scholarship from the New York Council on the Arts to represent the State of New York at the Arts in Corrections conference in California.

—Back to Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre to play Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS, Macduff in MACBETH, and The Duke in COMEDY OF ERRORS.
